Therefore, out of concern for the health and peace of mind of athletes, fans and volunteers, the organizers of Enea IRONMAN Gdynia have partnered with Abbott, a global healthcare company and leader in diagnostic testing, to provide its Panbio™ COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test to each athlete for use prior to the event on 6-8 August.
Although weekly coronavirus infection statistics in Poland are optimistic, the safety of participants has always been the top priority of the organizers of the triathlon festival in Gdynia. Thanks to the agreement with Abbott, each participant Enea IRONMAN Gdynia will be able to self-test for COVID-19 before the competition.
Fast, reliable self-testing at home or on-the-go restores peace of mind
Abbott’s Panbio COVID-19 Antigen Self-Test provides people with timely health information to help reduce further spread of infection. The portable test delivers results in 15 minutes, is easy to use and features a minimally invasive nasal swab for self-collection of specimens.
The Panbio Self-Tests are CE Marked and are approved for use in Poland. Panbio COVID-19 Antigen is one of the mostly widely studied and used rapid antigen tests in the world. Highly reliable, a clinical evaluation with Panbio self-test users demonstrated the test correctly identified 95.2% of positive samples and 100% of negative samples.
Restoring sense of safety and a return to normal
Each competitor will be able to check their health condition at their place of stay before the event. The sampling procedure is very simple and the waiting time for the result is only a few minutes. Triathletes who obtain a positive result should undergo self-isolation and inform the organizers of Enea IRONMAN Gdynia about the test result, and thus their participation in the competition is excluded.
