The favored Brit, Max Stapley, and Denmark’s Sif Madsen emerged as the winners of the 10th edition of the Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia. Just off the podium, Marta Łagownik finished in fourth place.

This was my first race in Poland. The organizers did a fantastic job, and the crowd was amazing. I’m even more pleased to have won, and in such great style.
Max Stapley, winner of Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia 2024

It’s hard to argue with the words of the British triathlete, as Gdynia once again proved to be unmatched in terms of atmosphere and the support that triathletes receive at the start, finish, and along the race course. This crowd support propelled Max Stapley to a confident victory with a time of 3:38:36. Nearly five minutes behind him was the second-place finisher, Gabriel Sandor from Sweden, while Denmark’s Anders Toft Nielsen took the third spot on the podium. This time, Polish athletes were outside the top ranks.

In the women’s race, we witnessed the strength of Danish triathlon. 23-year-old Sif Madsen won with a time of 4:09:11. In second place was her compatriot, Katrine Graesboll Christensen, and rounding out the podium was Italy’s Margie Santimaria. Poland’s Marta Łagownik finished in fourth, missing the podium by just over a minute.

I am very happy with this victory. The race course is fantastic, and what I enjoyed the most was the atmosphere during the run. There were so many supporters cheering me on.
Sif Madsen, winner of Enea IRONMAN 70.3 Gdynia 2024

Interestingly, Sif Madsen was supported on-site by none other than Magnus Ditlev, the winner of the 2020 Gdynia race and currently one of the top triathletes in the world, who also happens to be Sif Madsen’s partner. The Danish athlete, listed among the top favorites for this year’s IRONMAN World Championship, made a surprise appearance in Gdynia and leaves with yet another set of great memories.

I claimed my first professional victory here, and now my girlfriend has done the same. This city is amazing.
Magnus Ditlev

Ditlev surprised everyone at the end of Sunday’s competition when he appeared on stage during the slot ceremony, awarding tickets to the IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship 2025, which will take place in Marbella, Spain. 50 athletes who finished at the top of their age group categories received traditional coins symbolizing their qualification for the championship from the Danish champion.

For the first time in Gdynia, the Olympic distance race, Enea 5150 Gdynia, was also held. The fastest athletes were Dawid Mielke and Małgorzata Otworowska. A day earlier, the new 4:18:4 Gdynia powered by Sportano.pl race, designed primarily for triathlon beginners, took place. The winners were Jarosław Jankiewicz and Malin Ehlers
